"Though paired together, the
vans dames old skool sale and Era are heavily distinct in their choice of design. The latter, in terms of construction, is rather straightforward, bearing a white canvas upper and blacked out vulcanized sole. But what makes the pair interesting is its blueprint-informed motifs, which dress from the toe through to the heel in thick black pen. In comparison, the Old Skool is seemingly bereft of any print; instead, it opts for a mix of black denim and suede, corduroy Jazz Stripes, and a metallic upgrade to to its usual hardware.

The collaborative pack consists of two Vans Skate models: the collection’s very own Sk8-Hi Decon and the
vans slip on zwart heren. The former, which is Cher’s reimagination of the Vans Sk8-Hi, is a high-top silhouette with a slimmed-down profile. Cheetah-print canvas is applied to the uppers and is offset by the black suede exhibited by the toe, lacestays, and heel. Gold eyelets, waxed laces, and the black leather Sidestripe act as luxe additions to a rather casual model. A strawberry graphic near the heel and handwriting on the midsole are the final, personal touches to the arrangement.

vans herenschoenen takes responsibility for amplifying the voices of those who are redefining skate culture. Among these voices is skateboarder, musician, and artist Cher Strauberry, who is revitalizing San Francisco’s Embarcadero skate scene as a transwoman. For an upcoming collection of footwear and apparel dubbed “Skate Classics,” Cher embraces her edgy style by incorporating bold cheetah prints and gold details.

Throughout February, the California institution will showcase a different artist’s story, work and
vans platform checkerboard design. The group of collaborators include: Rewina Beshue (@rgb_), Sydney G. James, Chris Martin and Tony Whlgn. Informed by upbringings in and representing for Oakland, CA and Detroit, MI, the cohort has injected its personality and voice into the artwork created for Vans’ customization platform (Slip-On and Sk8-Hi, among others, are available).
